Trump Wants to be Putin Clone
Donald Trump has repeatedly made clear how much he admires Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Prior to officially taking office, Trump is demonstrating his intention to become a Putin clone.
He has made threats to take over Greenland and the Panama Canal, as well as suggesting Canada should be the 51st state. When asked by a reporter: “Can you assure the world that as you try to get control of Greenland and the Panama Canal, you are not going to use military or economic coercion?”, Trump responded: “No, I can’t assure you on either of those two.”
Trump has clearly demonstrated his plan to make our economy a wealth-based oligarchy. He has lined up a team of supportive billionaires from Bezos to Zuckerberg, and made Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy responsible for weakening all the regulations that could prevent him from achieving his goals. Many political scientists and economists point to our growing income inequality and social stratification as indicators that we are already on our way to becoming an autocratic oligarchy, and Trump wants to finish the job.
Clearly, Trump is planning to rule not govern. He sees how Putin went from a KGB officer to a very rich and powerful ruler of Russia. President Trump can shift from hawking Bibles and tennis shoes to banking tithes from his herd of oligarchs.
We don’t need another Putin in the world, and we certainly don’t need a Putin clone in the White House.
