Angela Jones is ready to represent the people of Southwest Michigan!

Angela Jones is a resident and homeowner in Berrien County dedicated to serving her neighbors and community. Between raising her family and managing her photography business, Angela actively participates and volunteers in the community she’s proud to call home whenever she can. Now, troubled by the obstacles affecting her family, friends, and neighbors on a daily basis, she’s taking on the challenge of running to be MI-District 37 State Representative.

Angela has been a small business owner since 2009, when she first started her photography business. Despite being one of the most heavily saturated businesses in the world, she managed to turn it into a successful career by focusing on the people she worked with first and foremost. Her business continued to thrive, allowing her to support her family, until, like so many other small business owners, Angela’s career was completely disrupted by the economic disasters stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Between the stresses of navigating her own bills and skyrocketing costs, Angela was deeply affected by seeing so many local businesses, many of them run by good friends, close around her. Too often, she also felt as though she and her fellow constituents weren’t being heard or seen by those already in positions of power while they were trying to handle once-in-a-lifetime challenges as best as they could. Rather than sit back and wait for someone else to step up, Angela instead resolved to take the initiative and try to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her. That’s why she’s now running for state representative, and she needs our help to send her to Lansing.

Angela firmly believes the vast majority of us want the same thing: to have a good life and a better future, and she wants to help Berrien County’s constituents get that by rebuilding people’s faith in our government and making sure we know we are heard. As representative, she plans to fight to protect our constitutional freedoms as well as advocate for greater government transparency, accountability, and efficiency. With respect to lawmaking, she is especially interested in pushing the writing of bills in language that is easily understood by the average reader in order to make them easier to understand for lawmakers and voters alike; promoting single-issue bills to prevent unrelated items from being included in them; and advocating for the adoption of term limits, a measure supported by the majority of Michiganders. For Berrien County specifically, Angela is committed to promoting labor and workers rights in order to ensure that all workers in Berrien County are guaranteed fair treatment, safe working conditions, and fair wages and benefits; protecting the agriculture industry of Berrien County, a longtime cornerstone feature of our county’s economy, environment, and cultural heritage; and finally, working to ensure that all of Berrien County’s residents have equitable access to healthcare, education, and economic security.
